This one turned out well I think! Love the colors! Yellow ocher, burnt sienna, ultramarine, cerulean, and cad red light! Maybe a bit of sap green as well! Better than I had hoped.

A neat painting

My studio space

It's been forever since I actually worked in my studio. It's a bit surreal! After I finish my three paintings today, I'll be taking photos of my work for my website! I'm really excited I had this day off and I managed to get sleep! I'm a bit behind schedule...

A Bit Different

This is the first time I was given a logo and asked to do a painting from that. I was torn between stylistic and my more realistic way to do things. I think this is fairly balanced between the two, though I moved logo elements around a lot!
I wouldn't have been able to do this with out the tromp l'oeil practice painting we did in 220 art. Everything we did in that painting is in this painting. I'll have to do a 'how to' since that is such a useful project!

Life Painting

It's great to be working from life again! And Fred is an excellent model. I'll post a link to his YouTube page when I post his other WIP painting. I've really got to get back in life painting mode. I might do Assad's portrait soon as he has been bugging me for one and I know he'll be fun to paint! And I never did an actual oil painting of Justin so I might paint him again soon. Oh, and probably Nathan too! Hmm, I need to get some girlfriends!

Still At It!

I've been painting a lot recently and playing around with my web presence on this blog, my website, and my facebook. If you look on the left side I have a like button for the page! Still trying to get more photos on it but I can do that later.

I couldn't wait to get back to the studio to paint so I set up on my friend's floor! Just gotta watch for paint spills!

I've also been doing these small (4x5) paintings for fiverr.com, so if you want one there will probably never be a better deal on my art. I'll post a direct link later. Soon I will switch from my hand made archival canvas board to my gessoed and shellacked mat and illustration board because of price. I can't handle a ton of new orders now, so I'll be posting the link when I can and if you are really interested in a piece of my art right now it's pretty easy to find!

I'll also, when I get the photographs of my art done, be posting my drawings and paintings from school, and some of those will be available for you to buy as well. That'll be awhile yet, but it'll happen. In chunks :)

Not Quite Daily Paintings

These tiny little things aren't daily paintings, yet, but they do keep me working. I'm getting more in my painting groove.

Art Tip

I don't know if anyone else does this, but if I'm working on a painting and it starts to feel over worked and rubbing out isn't helping, I go and clean all my brushes. The pluses are I step away from the painting long enough to get some perspective, and it almost feels like a fresh start!
